Dan Hogan appointed as City of Whittlesea’s new CEO

The City of Whittlesea has appointed Dan Hogan as its new Chief Executive Officer, with councillors endorsing the appointment at the July council meeting. Mr Hogan will commence in the role on 1 September 2026.

Mr Hogan brings more than 20 years of local government experience across a range of senior leadership roles, beginning his public service career with the Municipal Association of Victoria before holding senior positions at the City of Melton, Brimbank City Council and the City of Kingston.

Mayor Cox said councillors were unanimous in their assessment of Mr Hogan’s suitability for the role, citing his track record in stakeholder engagement and in securing state and federal government investment. The Mayor also thanked Debbie Wood, Director of Infrastructure and Environment, for her leadership as Acting CEO during the transition period.

In his own comments, Mr Hogan described the appointment as a privilege and pointed to the opportunities and challenges facing one of Australia’s fastest-growing municipalities.
