Date: 1 July 2026 — Echuca, Victoria
Campaspe Shire Council Chief Executive Officer Pauline Gordon has resigned after nearly four years in the role, with Mayor Cr Daniel Mackrell announcing she has accepted a senior position with the City of Boroondara.

Ms Gordon’s final day at Campaspe will be 26 August 2026, after which Council will commence the formal process to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer.
Cr Mackrell paid tribute to Ms Gordon’s contribution across a tenure that encompassed the COVID-19 pandemic and two significant flood events affecting the shire, in 2022 and 2024.
“Her leadership has strengthened the organisation’s financial sustainability, emergency management capability, improved community engagement through initiatives such as citizen panels, and contributed to steadily improving community satisfaction results,” Cr Mackrell said.
“Her work has placed both the organisation and the Shire in a strong position for the future. While we are saddened to see her go, we wish her every success in her new role.”
Ms Gordon pointed to a number of significant achievements during her tenure, including securing funding for the Victoria Park facility, the Wilf Cox Reserve upgrade, more than $7.6 million for repairs to Davis Road Patho and Two Tree Road Carag Carag, and state government funding for the Rochester aquatic facility. She also highlighted her advocacy on behalf of communities affected by water purchasing programs.
“I leave an organisation that is well-equipped to deliver on the Council and Wellbeing Plan and deeply connected to community priorities,” Ms Gordon said.
“Our organisational restructure has created a more agile and accountable organisation, and our award-winning work on RippleFest and recovery demonstrates the exceptional capability of our team.”
Ms Gordon was appointed to the Campaspe role in October 2022, having previously held executive positions at Mornington Peninsula Shire and the City of Greater Bendigo.
Her resignation is the second this week from a Victorian Council CEO, after Bradley Thomas announced on Monday his pending departure from Hepburn Shire Council.
